Written for : David’s W3 Prompt #51: Wea’ve Written Weekly
Heartfelt appreciation to Jane Aguiar for this opportunity and a grand thank you to David for your guidance. 🙏
Memento
she sailed above the skies misty
with the moon to converse
one night
appeals to heal her agony
unveils her wounds that pierce
to light
a moonlit memory that haunts
to erase from her mind
cries she
impossible to grant her wants
the moon sadly declined
her plea
raged at the moon, utter despair
her screams resound anger
in vain
regretfully, the moon declares
only you can conquer
this pain
Destiny’s prompt guidelines
Write a poem using the memento poetic form
Potential variations for W3
Feel free to add an extra stanza;
Do not confine your words to an anniversary or celebration;
Rather, explore a moment or an emotion, should your thoughts wander there.

Yes! We must find our own way through pain as solitary and unfair as it seems. The moon does give its light to help you see it though.

Wonderful poem, Destiny! I should have added the moon to mine, I love poems containing moon vibes.

This is one of my favourite poems you’ve written. It really read like a short story and loved the ending because it’s so true. No one can take our pain away, it’s only us that can heal from it and move on.

Congratulations, Destiny 🙂 And this is a lovely poem. The spirit of the moon is sadly helpless.

Welcome back😋
I think we tend to make the moon helpless with all our demands 😂

Congratulations on being POW.
How can the moon disappoint her after that whimsical journey in “escape” (the prompt poem).
Very Nice. Thanks a lot.
