An attempt at : Colleen’s 24 Seasons Syllabic Poetry Challenge, No. 7, 11/6/23: The Beginning of Winter (November 7 – 21) Ritto 立冬

Kigo words :
hoarfrost /north winds / fallen leaves

Form attempted : Choka
5-7-5-7-5-7-5-7-7

hoarfrost exhales – wisps
of icy breaths – seen cling to
fallen leaves beneath
bare trees – bespeaks dormancy
of autumnal grace
nestled in arms tender as
embraced by earths warmth
nature sheltered as north wind
whistles in winters shiver

  1. Beautifully crafted Choka capturing the transition into winter with vivid imagery. The hoarfrost, fallen leaves, and the whispering north winds evoke a sense of nature’s dormancy. Well done! 🍂❄️
